Dr. Kapil Salgia is a highly accomplished Chest Physician, Intensivist, Bronchoscopist, and Sleep Consultant with extensive experience in respiratory and critical care medicine. He completed his MBBS from Grant Medical College and Sir J. J. Hospital, Mumbai, followed by a Master’s degree in Chest Medicine from Seth G. S. Medical College and K. E. M. Hospital, Mumbai, where he trained with distinction and received specialized training in intensive care.
He began his academic career as a Lecturer at his alma mater, contributing to medical education for two years before joining Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre in 2007 as one of the youngest consultants. Since then, he has been actively involved in managing a wide range of respiratory and critical care conditions, including Asthma, COPD, Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD), Tuberculosis, HIV-related lung diseases, allergies, occupational lung diseases, and sleep disorders.
Dr. Salgia is also a Consultant at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai, where he is involved in ICU care and advanced bronchoscopic procedures, including bronchoscopic intubations. He plays a key role as a DNB teacher in Respiratory Medicine and is a member of the Renal Transplant Committee at Bombay Hospital.
A respected name in the medical community, Dr. Salgia is a life member of the Indian Association of Bronchology, the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP), and the European Respiratory Society (ERS). He has participated in and presided over numerous national and international conferences across Southeast Asia, Europe, and the USA.
He is frequently invited by medical colleges, hospitals, and professional societies across India to deliver lectures, conduct workshops, and provide expert opinions on complex and critically ill patients. His dedication to patient care, education, and clinical excellence has made him a trusted and sought-after specialist in his field.
